(ABC 6 News) – Iowa House Republicans are proposing additional changes to Area Education Agencies in a newly proposed bill.
The legislation was discussed yesterday, possibly allowing for more time to make changes to current educational institutions from 2024 to the 2025-2026 school year.
It also grants the state’s Department of Education permission to oversee AEAs, but advising would come from an assembled task force.
The state’s AEAs are meant to ensure all Iowa children have equal opportunities in education, dividing nine smaller districts within the state.
