(ABC 6 News) – Iowa Republicans refused to pass Governor Kim Reynolds’ proposed changes to the state’s special education services.
Reynolds looked to rethink Iowa Area Education Agency, but after her proposal passed a subcommittee in the state’s senate, House Republicans shot down the proposal, citing major opposition.

Now, House Republicans look for other ways to reform AEAs based on conversations with parents and experts.
Despite opposition, Senate Republicans say they will continue working on the governor’s proposal.
