(ABC 6 News) – An Iowa bill that would make “swatting” a felony offense, has unanimously passed the Senate.
Senate File 2161 follows a dramatic increase in swatting incidents, including Clear Lake, Mason City and Charles City in 2023, as well as a number of other schools following the deadly Perry school shooting.

The legislation calls for an increased penalty if someone is injured as a result of a false call
