Charles City woman sentenced to 27 years in deadly head-on collision

(ABC 6 News) – A Charles City woman charged with killing two people in a head-on collision in September 2021 has been sentenced to 27 years in prison.

Casey Jo Lindahl, 29 of Charles City, pleaded guilty to two counts of homicide by vehicle-OWI and one count of child endangerment for the head-on collision on September 4, 2021.

Court documents state that Lindahl crossed the centerline and collided with another vehicle killing 77-year-old Chris Andersen, and 76-year-old Anita Andersen, both from Mason City.

Documents also state that the results of a blood test indicated Lindahl had a BAC of .146%.

Lindahl and a 3-year-old who were in the back seat of the vehicle were not seriously hurt in the crash.
