Clear Lake woman killed in car crash in Hancock County

(ABC 6 News) – A Clear Lake, IA woman is dead after a car crash in Hancock County on Friday afternoon.
Sharon Schneider, 79, was traveling northbound on Hwy 69 south of Garner when another vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male from Ventura, IA was heading eastbound on 190th St., failed to stop at the stop sign, entered the intersection, striking Schneider’s vehicle broadside.
Schneider died from her injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt.
Schneider was transported to Mercy Hospital in Mason City by Garner ambulance.
No information was given about the other drivers condition.
The crash remains under investigation. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Iowa DOT, Garner PD, Klemme PD, Garner FD and EMS, and Hancock County Sheriff’s office.
