One in May shooting case released pending further investigation
(ABC 6 News) – After a series of five arrests related to a May 2 shooting investigation, Moel Wade has been released from Olmsted County custody pending further investigation.
Wade was arrested immediately after the May 2 shooting for possession of a pistol without a permit and possession of a controlled substance.
Those charges, RPD say, have not been dropped, but were not directly related to the May 2 shooting.
Wade, Jahmaul Earthman, De’Monte Simmons, Milton Smith, and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested during an investigation into the May 2 shooting July 1.

Wade and the juvenile were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault, but have not been formally charged with those crimes in Olmsted County Court.
RPD Capt. Casey Moilanen said he could not comment on the juvenile’s status.
He said the county attorney’s office has asked for additional investigation, and Wade may be charged with crimes related to the shooting in the future.
The remaining three face charges of drug possession (Earthman and Smith), and carrying a weapon without a permit (Simmons). They were arraigned in Olmsted County Court earlier this week.
