Pacelli holds special program to honor veterans

(ABC 6 News) – Students all across the area took part in Veterans Day events.

At Pacelli Catholic schools in Austin, a special program was held to honor service members.

They also heard from a Pacelli alum who served in both the Army and Navy. School staff saying it’s important to have events like this.

“Students need to hear it from people, they need to hear a real connection to real person and recognize that veterans are special but their regular people and that this is important and that America stands for and awful lot of things, but war isn’t one of them,” Social Studies teacher Nick Mcgrath said.

Students in grade one through 12 participated in the event.
