Rochester man sentenced to 12 years in child sexual abuse case

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man was sentenced Wednesday to 12 years in prison after sexually abusing a child under age 10.

David Allen Kochen, 41, pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a child between June 2015 and July 2019, beginning when the child was 6 years old and ending at age 9.

Kochen was sentenced to 144 months, or 12 years at the MN Correctional Facility in St. Cloud.

He was also ordered to spend 10 years on probation after his release,

Kochen’s defense filed a motion for a probation-only sentence Jan. 24. Olmsted County judge Pamela King denied the motion at the sentencing Jan. 29.

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man accused of four counts of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct — one for each year he allegedly spent abusing a child — will stand trial in July.

David Allen Kochen is accused of sexually abusing a child between June 2015 and July 2019, beginning when the child was 6 years old and ending at age 9.

Kochen’s pretrial is scheduled for July 13, 2023, with a jury trial July 24.

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man appeared in court Wednesday on four counts of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

David Allen Kochen is accused of sexually abusing a child between June 2015 and July 2019, beginning when the child was 6 years old and ending at age 9.

Court documents allege dozens of assaults over the years. According to Olmsted County Court, each of the four charges of criminal sexual conduct is linked to one year of the child’s life.

According to court documents, the victim told law enforcement that the attacked involved penetration, and happened more than 30 times.

According to court documents, Kochen denied any sexual abuse of the victim.

Kochen’s next court appearance is schedule Jan. 12, 2023.
