(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Public Schools board discussed several topics including the districts improvement plan at its board meeting Tuesday evening.
Some of the goals include increasing the number of students who score proficiently in a certain subject.
The hope is that other schools in the district can adopt similar successful programs — so the district can succeed as a whole.
“We’re gonna see a lot of variation, but our schools are also very different from each other. And so I think that’s appropriate, you as leaders of the system as a whole, and me, we need to grapple with how we respect the uniqueness of each school community but we’re also producing gains at scale across the district as a whole,” said Rochester Public Schools Superintendent Kent Pekel.
The board also celebrated lincoln elementary blue ribbon recognition and the reveal of dakota middle schools new logo which is a bison.
