(ABC 6 News) – All day, the Med City has come together to honor Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Speakers at the “We Have a Dream” celebration in downtown Rochester earlier today marked the holiday to shed light on the work that still needs to be done.

“It can feel like chaos because once you break the wheel, you have to build a new one and fully get free by leaving behind the old ways of doing things,” said Walé Elegbede, the president of the NAACP Rochester branch. “His words live on, and his words were etched both in stone and in our hearts”

Celebrators participated in a freedom march, but it was too cold to be held outside, so people marched in the city’s skyway system
