(ABC 6 News) – The Minnesota Supreme Court has issued a new opinion that allows street racers to be arrested on riot charges.

The case stems back to so called “intersection takeovers” that happened back in 2022.

Dozens of cars and pedestrian crowds gathered to block off traffic as people spun cars in the road.

It was argued the cars qualify as dangerous weapons when used recklessly near crowds of people.

The case ended up in front of the state’s high court, with justices ruling favor of the new law.
