UPDATE: Multiple crews battle large fire at Kasson business Sunday evening

UPDATE (11/7/2022 10:30 a.m.) – Kasson Fire & Rescue provided an update Monday morning on a large structure fire that occurred on Sunday evening.
At approximately 7:35 p.m., Kasson Fire along with Byron Fire, Dodge Center Fire and Mantorville Fire were all paged to a structure fire at 20 East Veterans Memorial Hwy in Kasson.
Upon arrival, Kasson Police informed fire crews that the property owners were all accounted for and that the south end of the building had already fallen in. Crews were on-scene until 1:50 a.m. Monday morning.
There were 2 fire fighters that were checked out at the scene by Dodge Center Ambulance, but were not transported to a hospital. There were no other injuries reported.
Kasson Police and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office both helped secure the scene.
There is no official cause, however it’s suspected the wood boiler in the southeast end of the building may have caused the fire. It is still under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
The property had several businesses and personal property of several different families that are all a total loss.

(ABC 6 News) – Multiple fire agencies responded to a building fire at 20 East Veterans Memorial Highway in Kasson on Sunday evening.
According to the Kasson Fire Department, crews were called to the fire around 7:30 p.m. Dodge Center Fire, Dodge Center Ambulance, Mantorville Fire, Byron Fire, Kasson Police, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office all assisted at the scene.
The State Fire Marshal Division will be investigating the cause.
