(ABC 6 News) – The Albert Lea City Council took up a proposed partnership with the county to build a path connecting Front Street to Hartland.

Though the proposal was passed unanimously, it wasn’t without a bit of hesitance associated with the $300,000 price tag.

This in particular, I think, is important to so many people in the community and outside of the community that it’s difficult to say ‘no’ to,” said Councilmember Sherri Rasmussen. “So, I’m hesitant on this, but I will support it.”

The $300,000 bill will be split out the middle, with Albert Lea and Freeborn County both contributing half.
