(ABC 6 News) – Rochester-Olmsted Council of Governments held a meeting Wednesday to discuss the 2023-2026 transportation improvement program.
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a prioritized list of transportation projects proposed for implementation in the Rochester Olmsted Council of Governments (ROCOG) planning area over the next four years.
The meeting is part of a process that allows the members of the ROCOG to go over plans and make sure they’re abiding by federal requirements.
If they don’t, the county won’t receive federal funding for the laundry list of projects meant to improve transportation infrastructure.
The county and state work together to make sure improvements for streets, highways, bicycles, pedestrian paths, and even air quality meet certain standards.
The ROCOG policy board also filled the two community representative seats.
Those members start their work on October 1.
