UPDATE: No arrests in Northern Valley Drive shooting

(ABC 6 News) – UPDATE: Police made no arrests over the weekend related to Thursday’s shooting on Northern Valley Drive, Capt. Casey Moilanen said Tuesday.

Officers found 20 bullet casings and heard from a man who said his truck had been hit by a bullet, Moilanen said, but they did not receive any tips about the shooter or shooters’ identity.

(ABC 6 News) – Rochester police plan to investigate last night’s NE shooting through the weekend. According to Capt. Casey Moilanen, officers responded to the 2800 block of Northern Valley Drive at about 8:15 p.m.
An officer in the area of Bowlocity reported the sound of shots fired to dispatch, and was told in return that law enforcement had gotten several calls about gunshots in the NE Rochester area.

An apartment building and at least two vehicles were damaged by what witnesses recalled as between 8 and 30 shots fired, Moilanen said.
Police have not located any victims, and local hospitals reported no gunshot wounds.
According to Moilanen, the shooting appears targeted — but it is unclear whether the perpetrator was targeting someone living on the NE Rochester street, or one of the damaged cars, which belonged to a person who does not typically visit the area.
Overnight investigators are still compiling damage reports, Moilanen said, and expect to work on the case through the weekend.
Residents should expect to see police casing the area in the daylight Friday.

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Police Department (RPD) is actively investigating a reported shooting in Northeast Rochester.
RPD says it happened some time after 8 p.m. Thursday in the 2800 block of Northern Valley Drive NE.
Police are not able to provide any additional details regarding injuries due to an active investigation.
