Rochester teenager sentenced to 3 years for fairgrounds shooting

(ABC 6 News) – UPDATE: A Rochester teenager arrested in connection with a 2023 shooting at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds was sentenced to 36 months at the MN Correctional Facility in St. Cloud Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Kelvin Figueroa-Millan, 19, received credit for 4 days previously spent in Olmsted County custody.
He was ordered to pay about $1,500 in restitution as well.

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester teenager arrested in connection with a 2023 shooting at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon Thursday.
Kelvin Figueroa-Millan, 19, entered the plea in exchange for the dismissal of an additional charge–reckless discharge of a firearm.
The plea agreement specifies that the likely sentence is 3 years in prison, but states that Figueroa-Millan’s defense is able to argue for a lighter ruling.
His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 7.

(ABC 6 News) – On the morning of Oct. 6, Rochester and Owatonna Police Departments made an arrest stemming from a shooting at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds on Labor Day weekend.
Police arrested Kelvin Figueroa-Millan, 18, at around 7:15 a.m. Friday. Searches conducted at an Owatonna hotel found a vehicle linked to Figueroa-Millan and additional evidence linked to the shooting.
Figueroa-Millan faces second-degree assault with a firearm and reckless discharge of a firearm charges.
The original incident happened on Sept. 2 as multiple quinceñeras took place at the fairgrounds. No injuries were reported.
