(ABC 6 News) – On Tuesday, the Rochester Police Department has released its annual report for 2023, giving an overview of the department’s work in investigation, community service, patrols and service.

The report details some of the more than 58,000 911 calls and nearly 132,000 non-emergency calls RPD officers have responded to in 2023.

RPD investigators had nearly 2,000 cases assigned to them in 2023, most commonly investigating domestic assault cases

Notably, former Mayo Clinic Doctor Connor Bowman underwent investigation, as police served several warrants after the death of his wife, Betty Bowman.

Investigators gathered enough evidence to help secure a grand jury indictment against Bowman for first-degree murder.

RPD patrols responded to more than 62,000 calls for service in 2023, including nearly 2,000 person in crisis calls, a 64% increase over the last five years.
