(ABC 6 News) – Iowa House lawmakers are working on a bill that would allow teachers to carry guns in schools.
The bill also proposes requiring schools with at least 8,000 student hire an armed private security guard or school resource officer.
Teachers who do decide to carry a gun in school would be entitled to “qualified immunity,” increased legal protections following a shooting on school grounds.
