(ABC 6 News) – UPDATE: Senator Chuck Grassley’s office noted that he was released from the hospital Thursday, Jan. 18, and expects to return to work next week.

(ABC 6 News) – Senator Chuck Grassley was hospitalized on Jan. 16, 2024, as doctors worked to treat an infection.

The specific treatment he underwent is typically used to fight serious infections or ones that can’t be treated with standard antibiotics.

But the Iowa Republican, who is the longest serving senator at 90-years-old, says he is recovering well and will return to work as soon as possible.
