Sheriff’s offices on hunt for suspect in car chase, theft

(ABC 6 News) – Blue Earth County law enforcement are searching for 25-year-old Sean Eric Vanmeveren in connection with a car theft and chase early Tuesday morning.

According to the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, at about 1 a.m. March 5, Brown County deputies alerted the BECSO that a 2012 red Chrystler 200 that had fled law enforcement was headed into their area.

Deputies located and pursued the vehicle near Lake Crystal beginning at about 1:13 a.m.

Deputies eventually ended the car chase by using Stop Stick tire deflation devices — however, the driver fled on foot and had not been arrested by 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Law enforcement suspects Vanmeveren was the driver, and that he may have stolen a red 2012 GMC Sierra pickup with MN license 733KMU that went missing in the same general area overnight.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office instructed anyone with information on Vanmeveren’s location to call 9-1-1.
