(ABC 6 News) – Rochester Police say they’ve found devices used to steal credit card information at self-check out lanes in two large retailers in town.

Authorities say the “skimmers” can be hard to spot, but there some distinguishing features.

Police encourage consumers to keep an eye out for parts that appear to stick out and compare them to nearby card readers.

Also look out to see if security labels have been tampered with and check for loose fitting parts.
