The Steve Johnson family announces they will sell Zumbrota Ford after 26 years
(ABC 6 News) — After 26 years, the Steve Johnson family has announced that they will be selling the Zumbrota Ford dealership.
Johnson said it has been a highlight of his 53-year career to be located in Zumbrota, but he felt the time is right to retire.
Over the years, Johnson says he’s seen a lot of change; from the technology of the cars to the customers that walk through the door.
What hasn’t changed is the attitude that makes him the “Dealer for the People.”
“A lot of the culture of our store and the things that we have shared with our people lead to that,” Johnson says. “It’s about don’t look at it transactional, do the right thing for the customer, they’ll come back again and again.”
The dealership has been purchased by Mosaic Auto Group, the same group that bought the Johnson’s Chrysler dealership several years ago. Johnson says the target date for the transfer is mid-May as they work out the details with the new owners.
Johnson is now looking forward to spending more time traveling with his wife and enjoying his hobbies of hunting and fishing.
