(ABC 6 News) – Two teenagers arrested after a Sept. 25 drive-by shooting face 1st-degree attempted murder charges, according to amended criminal complaints.

Anthony Lavell Frazier Jr., 19, and Christian Avery Miller, 19, were originally charged with felony 2nd-degree assault and drive-by shooting after their arrests Sept. 29.

According to new court documents, the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office has added a count of 1st-degree attempted murder–with intent, while committing a felony to each teen’s charges.

According to the amended criminal complaints, police served a search warrant at a Rochester residence Oct. 17, where a woman admitted that Miller gave her two firearms — a pistol and a rifle– to hide at a storage facility.

According to court documents, police located a tan AR-style rifle and a 9-mm Glock pistol with an extended magazine, capable of holding 31 rounds, at the facility.

Court documents also note that the vehicle Miller and Frazier are accused of shooting had 6 bullet holes in the front windshield, and two of the shots went through the driver’s seat headrest.

The new charges were filed Oct. 24.

Court documents allege that Frazier told law enforcement he was present during the shooting, but had not fired a gun, allegedly because Miller’s head was in the way.

Both suspects remain in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center on $250,000 bail.

(ABC 6 News) – Rochester police responded to two shootings Monday, Sept 25, and made three connected arrests this weekend.

According to Lt. Jennifer Hodgman with RPD’s investigative division, at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a “shot-up” empty vehicle in the 2000 block of Chardonnay Lane NW.

At about 11:30 p.m. the same day, officers responded to Olmsted Medical Center after an individual was brought in with wounds from their windshield being shot in, in the 800 block of 21st Avenue SE. Hodgeman said the second shooting stemmed from a disagreement at Walmart, and ended with individuals shooting at an occupied vehicle.

On Friday, Sept. 29, police served two search warrants related to the shootings.

One, in the 2000 block of chardonnay lane NW, resulted in two arrests — 19-year-olds Christian Avery Miller and Anthony Lavelle Frazier.

A second search warrant, served in the 2400 block of highway 52 North, resulted in the arrest of a juvenile male who faces recommended charges of aggravated robbery and juvenile in possession of a firearm, Hodgman said.

Police say both Miller and Frazier were involved in a drive-by shooting that happened in southeast Rochester on Monday, September 25. One person was hit with shards of broken glass during the drive-by.

Witnesses say they heard several gunshots last Monday night they also saw a group of people that included Fraizer and Miller, taunting a resident who lives here at the 21st Avenue Apartments.
Police say the scuttle stems from an earlier argument at a Rochester Walmart.

In the police report, one of the two victims said they were picking up their brother from these apartments. Their brother was the victim who was struck by glass during a shootout here on Monday.

The two brothers say they were shot at from a black 2009 Honda Accord, which witnesses say sped off after the shooting. When officers arrived they counted nine bullet holes in the victims car.

Jesse W has lived at the 21st Ave Apartments for the last year and he was woken up by the gunshots.

“It was around midnight,” he said. “Woke up to four loud bangs, a bunch of people running and walking back into the buildings. A bunch of tires screeching out of the parking lot and not even five, 10 minutes after that the police were in the parking lot. Looking for shell casings, stuff like that.”

Jesse also said that he has scene some altercations at the complex over the last year, but never once heard gunfire before last week.

“I’ve never heard no shooting. I mean, yes there’s been some activity, you know some fighting’s and some stuff like that but I’ve never heard of no shooting here before,” he said.

Frazier and Miller were also involved in another incident at a Rochester Walmart last Tuesday according to police. There, witnesses say Miller and Frazier were arguing with a Walmart employee after the employee accused them of stealing.

The altercation continued to the parking lot where on witness said they had seen miller with an AR-style weapon in a black 2009 Honda Accord.

They then followed one witness to their residence in northwest Rochester and shot into the windshield of their vehicle.

Hodgman said the investigations are complete and RPD does not anticipate further arrests. However, RPD also confirmed they found no guns in their search warrants and are still looking into where they have gone and how Miller and Frazier may have acquired them.
