(ABC 6 News) – After a monthlong scheduling delay, the Olmsted County Court reassigned Ty’Jhuan Davis Anderson’s case to Judge Christa Daily Thursday.
Anderson is accused of felony 2nd degree murder, felony 2nd degree attempted murder, and felony illegal possession of firearms/ammunition after a fatal Oct. 30 shooting in Essex Apartments.
Eighteen-year-old Mikayal Gordon of Rochester died in the shooting, and another male victim was severely injured.
Anderson was arrested at his mother’s residence in Hennepin County in March of 2021, three and a half months after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Anderson’s case has changed hands several times in 2022 — the case was assigned to Judge Lisa Hayne on March 22, then reassigned to Judge Jacob Allen on March 24.
Judges Joseph Chase and Debra Jacobson held prior hearings in the month of March, related to Anderson’s case.
Anderson pleaded not guilty to the charges on June 24, before Judge Mark S. Wernick. An order to schedule a jury trial was filed on that day.
The notice of case reassignment is the first filing since Anderson’s plea. As of July 28, a trial date has not been scheduled.
