Snow ends, travel conditions to improve
(ABC 6 News) – The winter storm that blanketed much of the area with snow creating tricky travel conditions on Friday morning is winding down.
The accumulating snow is over with some flurries expected throughout the rest of the day. Travel conditions will also improve.
Friday morning, the Minnesota State Patrol in the Rochester district responded to 20 crashes, 1 with injuries and additional 17 vehicles off the road, as well as 7 jackknifed semis.

It was a different story earlier Friday morning when the snow began to crank up in southern Minnesota especially after about 3:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, the snow was also coming down heavily around Marion at 5:30 a.m.

ABC 6 News Weather First Meteorologist Jim Peterson says the area has picked up between 3-7″ of snow, with a few locations picking up 8-10″!
