Jurors heard from the family and friends before Luke herself took the stand.
She recounted the two month of her son’s short life, as well as the days before his death.
“It’s a mother’s worst fear, a mother would never ever think about their child being gone before they would never, and mine did and I still haven’t even grieved or nothing,” said Luke.
On cross examination, the state pressed Luke on her not following the direction of her doctor.
“You understood the direction from Dr. Tran was that you were to express the milk through a pump and feed that breast milk to Abel and [your second son] Brennan by bottle correct?”
She responded with a “yeah.”
Now, the defense has rested their case.
The court will move forward to closing arguments, when the jury will receive their instructions before deliberations begin at 9 a.m. on Monday.
