(ABC 6 News) – The Austin Freedom Festival is back in full swing after dialing it down last year because of the pandemic.
This year there are a number of local food vendors and performers, and there are also a number of children’s activities including bouncy houses and face painting.
Leaving something for everyone in the family to do.
"We’ve been doing Freedom Festival planning for nearly a year," said Taylor Bliese, a member of the Austin Enhancement Group Board of Directors.
"I couldn’t image Austin without the Freedom Festival and having our kids run around, and just enjoy everything. So we want everyone to just come down, and enjoy everything that everyone has worked so hard to plan."
Two visitors on Sunday were enjoying everything there was to offer. Riley and her older sister Charley hit up the face painting booth and when asked what they wanted to eat, they both said ice cream and snow cones.
ABC 6 Weather First has been reporting there is a chance of rain for the holiday. Event organizers said they are watching things closely and if they cancel, 4th of July fireworks will be moved to Tuesday.
