Boys & Girls Club of Rochester reveals new gymnasium mural
(ABC 6 News) – The Boys & Girls Club of Rochester, in partnership with Families First of Minnesota, revealed a new community mural in the gymnasium at The Place.
Thanks to a grant awarded by the Greater Rochester Arts & Cultural Trust, the Boys and Girls Club was able to work with locally renowned muralist, Maggie Panetta, to create a 200-square foot mural guided by the theme, “Healthy Lifestyles.”
Panetta, part owner of Treedome creative studio, led workshops with Club youth to brainstorm what Healthy Lifestyles look like to them at The Place, and integrated their input in her final work.
Over 150 youth will benefit from this mural on a daily basis at The Place.
Rochester community members who are interested to view the mural in-person, can contact the Boys & Girls Club to schedule a tour.
