Brownsdale man arrested for passing fake check in Mason City

(ABC 6 News) – A Brownsdale man has been arrested for forging or faking several checks at various Kwik Star locations.

39-year old Brendan Johnson is charged with ongoing criminal conduct and forgery.

According to the complaint, Johnson presented a fake check to a Kwik Star in Mason City on August 15, 2022. Johnson had also passed several at other Kwik Star locations in Minnesota.

A criminal complaint was filed on February 25 and was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail Wednesday on $25,000 bond.

Johnson was charged with forgery in Minnesota in 2018.
