(ABC 6 News) – After a ten-year hiatus, the Southeast Minnesota Realtors (SEMR) Charity Golf Tournament is back!
The event is raising money for the Rochester Community Warming Center and the Landing MN.
Before the 144 golfers hit the green, SEMR had already surpassed the initial fundraising goal of $10,000.
Organizers shared what the return and success of this fundraiser mean to them.
“Oh it means the world, we had a goal of ten thousand dollars we were going to try to raise today, and we’ve already surpassed that before the day starts,” says Eric Brownlow, Association Executive of SEMR. “I’m very, very proud to be involved with this organization.”
The Landing MN intends to use the money to help finance its new day center, which is planned to open in October 2022.
“We are so incredibly grateful, says Landing MN Co-Founder Holly Fifield. “What this tells us is that what we’re doing is important and it’s valued by our community. We’re really just so thankful for all the support and the funding that comes in, especially for our new day center. “
