(ABC 6 News) – Times are tough, there’s no doubt about that. But, in those tough times, there’s hope. Hope for better days, hope for the future.
That’s what people in Chatfield are doing, holding onto hope as an apartment complex is now considered a total loss after a weekend fire.
The Chatfield Lutheran Church is taking donations to ensure families have whatever they need.
You can drop off backpacks, dog food, gift cards, laundry soap, and basic toiletries. Any item helps.
“At this point we’re overflowing with an abundance of items which is great that the community is so willing to step up and support our community members who are hurting at this time,” Pastor Nissa Peterson of Chatfield Lutheran Church said.
And Pastor Peterson’s message for families impacted by this fire is a simple one.
“We’re here for you, to support you emotionally, spiritually, and financially in the way that we can as your community. We love you and let us be there for you in whatever ways you need,” Peterson said.
Items will be given to the families impacted by the fire on Wednesday.
