(ABC 6 News) – Wednesday, the Kasson city council held its final assessment hearing for their 2023 street improvement project.
This is to repave roads in some neighborhoods that were deemed poor.
Residents have already received letters to notify them about the project and were welcomed to express concerns and questions about the project.
The estimated project cost would be around 808 thousand dollars and the assessments to the property owners would cover 30% of the total cost.
“We’re looking at beginning construction in spring and completing construction in October. They’re looking at starting this probably about middle of summer,” said Brandon Theobald Municipal engineer WHKS & Co.
There was some uncertainty between council members on whether or not to go through with the assessments.
This will be a conversation that they will have at a future meeting.
