Comedian Kevin Farley in Rochester Thursday night
(ABC 6 News) – You might recognize him from ‘Saturday Night Live’ alongside his brother Chris Farley, or the political parody movie, ‘An American Carol’ – Kevin Farley. He’s playing a comedy show in Rochester Thursday night and ABC 6 News Good Morning Reporter Sydney Zatz had a chance to speak with him beforehand.
If there’s one thing I learned during my interview, it’s that comedy runs in the Farley family’s blood.
In addition to movies and TV, Kevin has been doing stand-up for about 15 years. Originally from Wisconsin, he tells me you can expect some Midwest humor including lots of cheese jokes, and talks about current events.
“I talk a little bit about my relationship, my wife and her proclivities, and my weight issues. My battle with weight,” said Farley.
When I asked if he uses any of his brother’s gimmicks, he says he’s a little told old to be falling on tables. While he and Chris are similar, they’re also very different.
“We would have contests, you know, then see who could make each other laugh. It was a lot of fun. I think he would have grown a little bit and maybe take a different tack on some of the stuff he was doing already. I always thought he was a genius. I don’t know what he’d be doing right now but I’m sure that it’d be good. “
Farley is working on a new Christmas movie. As for what he wants to do still, he tells me it’s to play at Carnegie Hall.
Farley is at the Eagles Lodge Thursday night in Rochester. The show starts at 8 p.m. As of Thursday morning, tickets are still available. For more information and tickets, you can click here.
