Deputy Chief leaving RFD after serving Rochester for 23 years

(ABC 6 News) – Deputy Chief Vance Swisher is leaving his post in Rochester after 23 years of service.
During his tenure, he worked in or supervised every division of the Department, including Fire Admin, Operations, Fire Marshal Division, Fleet Services, Training, and Hazmat and the last 12 as Deputy Chief.
Chief Swisher will begin as the new Fire Chief in Ankeny, Iowa next week. Thursday was Swisher’s last day.
