DoorDash suspends operations across parts of Minnesota, Iowa due to winter storm
(ABC 6 News) – DoorDash announced on Thursday they have activated its severe weather protocol and suspended operations across parts of Minnesota and Iowa until at least Saturday.
The precautionary measure comes as the winter storm will bring blizzard conditions to the area leading to hazardous, if not impossible travel, along with extreme cold temperatures.
DoorDash will suspend all operations in the following areas from Thursday until at least Saturday, Dec. 24:
- Rochester, MN
- St. Cloud, MN
- Mankato, MN
- Des Moines, IA
- Cedar Rapids, IA
- Ames, IA
- Waterloo, IA
- Dubuque, IA
DoorDash says the time and duration of the suspension will vary by city. The changes have been communicated with Dashers, merchants and customers in the impacted areas.
“This is a significant winter storm which risks making travel extremely hazardous and in some cases impossible,” said DoorDash spokesperson Julian Crowley. “We are closely monitoring the difficult conditions on the ground and will resume operations as soon as it is safe to do so. Our thoughts are with local Dashers, merchants and customers and we thank all of them for their understanding.”
