(ABC 6 News) – Rochester residents are encouraged to take part in this year’s ‘Fall Fit City challenge’ led by mayor Kim Norton.
The Move with the Mayor™ initiative was developed by the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention, to encourage people to walk and live active and healthy lifestyles.
Rochester has participated in the challenge since 2020 and is excited to see the community join in to be more active.
Norton joins 45 other mayors across the country for this activity. Rochester, however, is the only city in Minnesota to participate.
“I hope people whether they are out doing fall gardening or are taking a run or just walking through their neighborhood, log your minutes, help out Rochester to be a healthier city,” Norton said.
The challenge kicked off Thursday at 125 live and will run until October 15th.
