Freeborn County announces finalists for County Administrator position
(ABC 6 News) – Freeborn County and the South Central Service Cooperative announced the four finalists for the County Administrator position.
The county contracted South Central Service Cooperative of North Mankato to direct the search process. Overall, nine applications were received with four finalists selected for the position.
The finalists are as follows:
Michael Harvey: He has 12.5 years of county government experience in Benton, Dakota and St. Louis Counties. His focus has been Land Services and Assessing, hiring, managing, mentoring, and training staff. Harvey holds a B.S. in Finance/Economics. Harvey is currently taking a career break to invest time into family and travel, however is ready to return to full-time work.
Susan Miller: She has over 29 years of experience in city and county government, serving the City of Albert Lea and Freeborn County as city and county engineer. Miller has a B.S. in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer. Miller is currently employed with the SRF Consulting Group, Inc. leading their Transportation and Environmental Planning team.
Candace Pesch: She has 7 years of experience in county government and 4 years within the federal government. Pesch holds a B.S. in Organizational Leadership and an Associate’s Degree in Letters, Arts and Sciences. Pesch is currently the Director of Personnel and Human Resources for Freeborn County.
Pat Oman: He has 20 years of experience in the city and county government, as a City and County Administrator and Economic Development Director. Oman also spent 8 years in the private sector in a management role. Oman holds a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in History, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Manufacturing Systems. Oman is currently County Administrator in Becker County.
Final interviews with candidates will be held at a special board meeting on Wednesday, October 26 at 9:00 a.m.
Janice Fransen is serving as the Interim County Administrator.
