(ABC 6 News) – The Hormel Institute had their first State of the Institute address Thursday.
Along with acknowledging the company’s 80 year history, this was a chance to look back on 2022 and to show what’s ahead.
A big milestone they look forward to is the Minnesota Bio-Imaging center.
Thanks to Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, the Hormel Institute was able to secure one and a half million dollars to go towards the facility.
“There’s a new piece of equipment available that wasn’t available a year ago or two years ago that now we’re able to buy that we couldn’t have bought before.// this new equipment and technology that we have at the institute which nobody else in the state has allows us to actually look at atoms and molecules,” said Hormel Institute Executive Director, Dr. Robert Clarke.
Clarke also talked about wanting to increase intellectual diversity within the institute and work towards equal opportunity and inclusion.
He also thanked Hormel’s partners and the fundraisers that they did last year.
