4 injured in multi-vehicle crash in Byron Friday

(ABC 6 News) – Four people were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 14 Friday morning.

The crash happened just before 11 a.m. at 10th Ave. SE/Hwy 14 intersection in Byron.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, three vehicles were stopped at the stoplight at 10th Ave SE/Highway 14 when a semi also headed east collided with the other vehicles.

Terri Sheliaufkin, 35 of Byron, suffered life-threatening injuries, Pamela Neville, 49 of Byron, and her passenger Dallas Neville, 68 of Byron, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. All three were taken to Saint Marys Hospital for treatment. Torin Akey, 53 of Mankato was not injured.

The driver of the semi, Mitilien Joseph, 51 of Miami, FL, also suffered what is considered non-life-threatening injuries.

MnDOT traffic cameras showed a semi in the median with traffic backed up in the eastbound lanes.

Mayo Clinic Ambulance, Olmsted County SO, and Byron First Responders also responded to the scene.
