Iowa Rep. Hinson released from hospital; debate with Sen. Mathis scheduled for Tuesday canceled
(ABC 6 News) – Iowa Representative Ashley Hinson has been released from a Cedar Rapids hospital according to her official Twitter page.
I am grateful to everyone who has sent thoughts and prayers over the last few days. I am feeling much better, will continue resting at home, and look forward to getting out on the road to be with Iowans soon.

Hinson was admitted to UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Sunday and was treated for a kidney infection.

Hinson, a Republican from Marion, Iowa is running for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District in northeast Iowa. She faces Democratic state Senator Liz Mathis in the November 8 election.
The two were scheduled to debate on Tuesday night, however that has been canceled, according to Iowa PBS which was set to broadcast and stream the event.
Iowa PBS said there are no plans to reschedule the debate as none of the possible future dates offered to both campaigns could be agreed upon.
