McDonald’s to donate $90K of school supplies to teachers across region
(ABC 6 News) – Local McDonald’s owners and operators will help deliver school supplies to teachers across Minnesota, western Wisconsin and Ironwood, Michigan the company announced on Tuesday.
More than 225 participating McDonald’s restaurants in the region are donating $90,852 raised from the sales of McDonald’s World Famous Fries® to the Kids In Need Foundation (KINF), a Roseville, MN-based non-profit that provides school supplies to under resourced schools nationwide.
For every order of McDonald’s World Famous Fries® during the “Fries for Supplies” initiative from July 25-29, local owner/operators donated 10% of the sales to KINF, which in turn purchased the school supplies.
The money raised through “Fries for Supplies” will provide school supplies to more than 320 teachers and nearly 9,000 students in the region.
Below is a list of confirmed schools in Minnesota that will receive the supplies. Additional schools will be supported throughout the Twin Cities, Greater Minnesota, and Western Wisconsin.
- Rochester STEM Academy in Rochester
- Talahi Community Elementary in St. Cloud
- Kato Public Charter School in Mankato
- Myers-Wilkins Elementary School in Duluth
- Washington Elementary in Hibbing
- Venture Academy Middle School in Minneapolis
