(ABC 6 News) – A 57-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Blooming Prairie on Thursday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2003 Saturn L300 and 2008 Honda motorcycle were both traveling north on Highway 218/Highway 30 when they collided at 11:54 AM.

UPDATE: the motorcyclist was identified as Darren Thomas, a 57-year-old man from Austin.

The driver of the car, Mya Gaul, and her two passengers were not injured in the crash.

“From my perspective as the driver of the car, I was stopped at the intersection by the Dollar General waiting for the cars ahead of me to turn, at a complete stop I was rear ended by a motorcycle. He slid under my vehicle and sadly did not make it,” said Gaul.

Blooming Prairie ambulance, fire, and law enforcement responded to the scene.
