Nearly 1M Frontline Worker payments issued, Friday the deadline to update info
The vast majority of Minnesotans who were approved for the state’s Frontline Worker pay program have received their payments, the state said Monday.
Two weeks ago, the state announced that 1,025,655 people were approved to receive the payments, which totaled $487.45 for each approved applicant.
Monday, the state said approximately 996,900 approved applicants had already been sent their payments.
Anyone who was approved but hasn’t yet received their payment will get an email Monday stating they need to update their payment information by 5 p.m. Friday because the initial payment attempt failed.
Nicole Blissenbach, the temporary commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, previously said that anyone who doesn’t update their payment information by the deadline will have a debit card with the payment amount mailed to the address on their application in November.
As previously reported, the payments are still subject to federal taxes but not state taxes.
