No injuries in Thursday morning Albert Lea house fire
(ABC 6 News) – A house fire in Albert Lea on Thursday morning was extinguished with no injuries, according to Albert Lea Fire Rescue.
A neighbor called 911 at approximately 5:45 a.m. Thursday morning, after hearing smoke detectors going off in the house located at 1700 Eberhart St.
Emergency crews arrived on scene to find fire coming from the northwest basement window, and confirmed that no one was inside the house.
Albert Lea Fire Rescue said while the house is vacant, there is evidence it was broken into with one or more people illegally occupying the residence.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which was accidental in nature, according to Albert Lea Fire Rescue.
Damages are estimated at approximately $5,000.
Albert Lea Fire Rescue was assisted at the scene by the Albert Lea Police Department, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Ambulance.
