RCTC women’s basketball team secures #1 spot in latest NJCAA rankings

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) Yellowjackets women’s basketball team have secured the new number one spot in the latest NJCAA rankings released on Monday.

The 8-0 Yellowjackets moved up one spot from last week, and received 7 first-place votes to capture the top spot from Hostos Community College (7-2) located in the Bronx, New York, who fell to 6th after losing a game last Tuesday.

RCTC has spent the last 3 weeks ranked #2 in the nation, after beginning the season in mid-October ranked #3.

RCTC will play at the Anoka Classic this weekend. The Yellowjackets will play Joliet (Illinois) Junior College (3-10) at Anoka Ramsey on Saturday, and Bismarck State College (6-3) at Coon Rapids, MN on Sunday.
