RFD responds to NW Rochester house fire Thursday
(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Fire Department (RFD) responded to a house fire on the city’s northwest side on Thursday morning.
RFD said around 11 a.m. Dec. 22, crews were dispatched to a home on the 1000 block of Chippewa Dr. NW on a report of smoke on the main floor.
When crews entered the home they found black smoke coming from a vent inside the kitchen, but no visible fire. Crews proceeded to a utility room where they found an air exchange unit on fire and quickly extinguished it.
RFD says there was minimal fire damage, however there was smoke damage throughout the main level.
No injuries were reported.
RFD was assisted at the scene by Olmsted County Sheriff deputies, Mayo Clinic Ambulance and the Rochester Fire Marshal’s division.
