Riders, fans flock to Midwest Motorsports Expo
(ABC 6 News) – Saturday in Rochester, motorsports riders and fans flocked to the Midwest Motorsports Expo at the Mayo Civic Center. There was a rainbow of colors, with several vendors showing off their racing gear.
The expo allowed racing gurus to share a beer as they talked shop with vendors from across the area. The event had everything from helmets to suits and, of course, car designs on display.
One vendor said he’s using the convention to build more of a relationship with his company and community.
“Trying to get them to realize that we’re still here under new ownership as well to try to get that familiarity to it,” explains Harley Davidson vendor Luke Hardtke.
Racers and managers also gathered near the entrance to talk shop and talk about how to keep fans engaged at racing events.
Most people walked away from the expo with some new knowledge of racing.
