(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester couple is fighting to make it into the next round of a national Michael Bublé dance contest.
In the top 100, Emily and Luke Doskey are looking for votes to make it into the top 50 of Michael Bublé’s “Higher” dance contest. If they make the top 50, they will have a chance to keep advancing to potentially win first place.
The grad students have taken tango lessons for three years. As big fans of Bublé, they couldn’t pass on the opportunity. They even recorded their dance in one take, and improvised it.
“We enjoy Michael Bublé’s music and we love to dance and thought this would be a great way to showcase what we’ve learned so far,” said Luke Doskey.
His wife, Emily added: “I think it’s more just like showcasing the love of dance. That it can be done easily in your living room. It can happen in many different forms.”
The winner will get a one-on-one facetime with Bublé himself, and a dance lesson with “Dancing with the Stars” judge, Derek Hough.
Voting to get into the top 50 ends at midnight on Monday. If you’d like to vote for Emily and Luke, you can click here.
Speaking of dancing and Michael Bublé, Monday is Michael Bublé night on “Dancing with the Stars.” You can stream it on Disney+.
