Salvation Army Seeing Normal Demand

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Salvation Army is still seeing their normal demand this winter, as people continue to come in looking for winter necessities.

While people are dropping off donations, items like insulated, waterproof gloves and heavy coats (especially for men and in larger sizes) are still needed.

Despite what the rest of this winter may look like, it’s always important to remember that it is cold for those spending long periods of time outside.

“We want to be prepared to help anybody regardless of whether it’s 50 degrees or -20 degrees because no matter what it’s cold outside and no matter what there’s this population of people that needs that extra support when it’s cold,” said Rebecca Snapp, Director of Community Engagement, Rochester Salvation Army.

If you are in need of resources or are looking to donate you can go to the Salvation Army’s Social Services Center. For any additional information you can go to rochestersa.org or call (507)-288-3663.
