Rochester to Chester Hwy 14 construction starts Sept. 6
(ABC 6 News) – Starting on Tuesday, September 6, construction will begin on Highway 14 from Rochester east to Chester.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will resurface a five-mile stretch of Highway 14 from Marion Rd. SE in Rochester to Olmsted County Rd 19 in Chester.
The project will include restoring the life of the aging road, which hasn’t been upgraded in more than 20 years, updating pedestrian crosswalk ramps to meet current accessibility standards, updating traffic signals and pavement markings.
Highway 14 will remain open during construction, but lanes will be reduced which will increase travel time, and the MnDOT asks motorists to please prepare for traffic changes and delays during this work.
The project is expected to last through late October.
